Our European Trip: London, Day 2

So after sleeping for 13 hours straight- Liz woke up at 11:30am and screamed for all of us to wake up as we just missed the whole morning in London!  We got ready very quickly (I fried my straightener as I didn't have the converter set correctly!), got a cup of coffee at the Starbucks which was right next to our hotel (a lifesaver) and then hoped on our first double decker bus to make our way closer to the city.

We had booked a bus tour of London so that we could see all of the sites without walking all over and we wanted to make sure we didn't miss anything.  Needless to say there is no way we would have ever seen as much as we did from the double decker tour bus and our guide was awesome.  He knew so many odd details about buildings, places, and sites that it made for a very interesting tour!

I couldn't possibly tell you what each building is but here is a little preview of our sites.
I've actually just pulled pages from the Shutterfly book I did... not the highest quality picture when I do it like this but then I don't have to redo all my pictures :)
Buckingham Palace!
Then we went to an adorable pub for a little snack and some beers!  A good break from the bus.  We finished the day with a walk through Hyde Park and the Princess Diana Memorial Fountain.  It was a beautiful tribute to Princess Diana.

We then went back to our hotel and got ready for dinner.  We ate at the Salt House- an adorable pub and restaurant just a few blocks from our hotel.  Dinner was delicious!  We then headed back to our hotel to play cards and enjoy some wine.  I won't go into the awful details but let's just say Liz and I should have stopped after the first bottle of wine but we didn't- bad decision.  It was a long night for Kari and the next day on the train was a long ride for Liz.  You fill in the details :)

Well that was London- next we are on to Paris!  Hope you have a good day and come back to see our adventures in Paris.

Cheers!

  1. How fun! We always do the double decker bus tour when we're in NYC, it's the BEST way to see a ton of the city and learn fun stuff! Looks like another great day....aside from the wine. :)
