25 Weeks

I danced my booty off this last weekend at my good friend Megan's wedding and let me tell you baby was loving it!  He was kicking like crazy and moving a ton but as soon as we left the wedding and I assume he no longer heard music and felt Mama grooving, he was so still.  I'm guessing he fell asleep!  I hated dancing at weddings during my pregnancy with Colin.  I felt like a whale- I still do- but I let go of my insecurities and had a blast shaking it with my girlfriends and husband!

This week has been a bit more achy than before.  Maybe it was the dancing?!  Nah- my back has been in a bit more pain but I think that has more to do with picking up Colin-- who feels like he has put on some lbs lately and is super busy!  But I'm sure the imbalance of picking up Colin and carrying this new little one in the front shifts my body in ways it is less than thrilled about.

I picked up this maternity sweater/dress comfy awesomeness at Target the other day.  I'm having to get creative (or break down and buy some fall, warm maternity items) on what to wear.  All my maternity things from before are for summer and not very warm.  And I can only do a maternity tank and cardigan so often-- I feel like I wear the same things everyday!

I'm so excited for our family photos on Sunday!  It's technically Colin's 1 year pictures but we are of course going to sneak in a few maternity pictures too!  It's crazy to think that in next year's Christmas card, there will be 4 of us (and Dupree!)!  I can't wait!

Eleven Months

My little boy and his smile melt this Mama's heart.

**Sorry I'm a little late on this post-- it's been just so busy lately!

Weight: Likely around 23 lbs.
Sleep: We are completely done with the sleepsuit.  Colin is great at bedtime.  He has a bottle, rocks for a few minutes, lays down in his crib and is out.  He sleeps for 10 hours, gets up for a bottle and goes back down for 1-2 more hours of sleep.  Naps on the other hand are something to be desired.  He has completely dropped his morning nap.  And his afternoon nap is typically 30 minutes.  Yep that's right-- my baby doesn't want to miss anything during the day and unless we are in the car, he is like clockwork and wakes up after 30 minutes.
Feeding: We have big changes this month-- Colin can FINALLY hold his own bottle and he loves to feed himself his yogurt and fruit/veggie pouches.  He still loves anything with cheese- his recent favorite is scrambled eggs with cheese.  He has definitely been more open to trying other things which I am very grateful for.  I also stopped doing a breakfast bottle and a snack bottle which seemed to curb his appetite and he will eat more solids now!
Diapers: size 3
Clothing: 12 months but I bought a lot of 18 month clothes and I figure he can grow into them this winter
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Milestones: Started daycare-- it has been a rocky start.  Transitions/changes are not Colin's strong suit but last Friday seemed to be a much better day so we are hopeful this can be the new trend.  He also got his 9th tooth!  We had no idea he was teething but it popped threw last Saturday out of no where!  And he is OFFICIALLY walking!  Colin walks everywhere and loves it!
Nicknames: Goomba, Little Man
Favorites: Still loving that Johny Jump Up, swinging at the park, chase and hide-n-go-seek with daddy, telling secrets (whispering in his ear), playing tug-o-war with Dupree, talking, walking, and bath time

Colin,
This has been a month of growing, stretching, and discovery for you.  It has been so amazing to watch your little world expand.  You've had your low moments- especially with your transition to daycare- which just about killed me.  Mama's heart was in her throat and I didn't sleep very much, worrying about your next time at daycare.  I'm thankful you are doing better.  You don't love transitions and change-- time will be our friend.
You're walking, talking, and into everything!  You love Dupree and he kisses you non-stop!  You grew up overnight into a little boy.  I no longer have a baby.  I cannot believe you will be one in less than a month.  Where did your first year go?  I cannot wait to see you learn more words, be more confident each day in your steps and skills, and I will forever love the sound of your sweet laugh.
Your hugs are the best and when I ask if you are sweet you lay your head on my shoulder-- talk about melting your mama's heart.  I love you so much Goomba!
With my whole heart,
Mama

24 Weeks

We almost missed this picture but just before Colin's bedtime we snapped our 24 week bump picture!  Not a lot to report this week other than lots of kicking!  Baby is active and moving ALL the time!  He used to move mostly at night and in the morning but now it is basically all day long.  And I LOVE it!

23 Weeks

A few people have asked for a comparison picture of me now vs. me with Colin at 23 weeks...
Not the best comparison shot but you can see how much more the bump sticks out with this little guy than with Colin.  It's crazy to see this though!

So I've been really, really tired lately.  I think it's a combination of simply being pregnant, chasing our walking baby, and not sleeping as much or as well since Ryan had shingles-- which by the way are doing much better so thanks for the prayers!  I have been doing almost all the meal times and bottles with Colin in an effort to keep Ryan and Colin separated.  And this includes the 5-6am bottle.  Although Colin goes back to bed for about 2 hours, it still take a little while to get comfy again and fall asleep.  I could use a full, straight 9 hours of sleep.

Otherwise, I'm doing great!  Feeling more kicks and movement.  I love that!  Our next Dr. appointment is next week and I can't wait to just check in again and see our doctor.  Always a relief to get a good report :)

22 Weeks

So after I took this picture I realized my bump looks bigger in these pictures than it actually is... I tend to pop my hip to help Colin "peak" around and typically the picture is taken JUST after I've tried to get Colin to smile- this week we failed.  So the bump is not quite as large as it appears here!

This baby has been moving more and Ryan got to feel some good kicks this week.  He likes to move early in the morning and late at night.  He isn't very active during the day-- I guess he is going to have to learn night and day when he is born.

Oh and if you are reading my caption for 22 weeks then you will see that Ryan has shingles!  Yep, it's true.  He woke up LAST Monday with a sore on his back and then one on his chest the next day.  By Wednesday it was bothering him a lot- even his shirt touching it was enough to really make him squirm.  He called the Dr but they suspected it was a spider bite so he didn't go in.  By Thursday morning, he was in a lot of pain and that pain was spreading around his torso.  They took him in and figured out that he has shingles.  Awesome.

He instantly started an oral anti-viral medication and on Friday he began an Essential Oil topical treatment- thanks Danielle!- and he is recovering.  His torso still hurts and as of yesterday he has noticed a few new spots- we are really hoping that the two spots do not spread.  Say some prayers he heals up quickly.

Also- since Colin isn't 1 yet, he hasn't had his vaccination for chicken pox.  We have tried really hard to keep Colin away from Ryan and his shingles-- lots of hand washing, Ryan has bandaged his shingles and always wears two layers of shirts, no feeding Colin, and minimal contact.  As long as Colin doesn't touch an open blister, the doctors have said he should be fine.  Again, pray that we would stay chicken pock free!  And then there's me and this baby- since I've had chicken pox, I'm not at risk and therefore baby is okay too.  Again we've been really careful- separate sleeping, lots of hand washing, and keeping Ryan bandaged and covered.

So yep-- that's been our week.  We loved having a 3 day weekend and hoping it ca be a healing weekend for Ryan!
