Spencer: 11 Months

And here I sit, weeks before your first Christmas and one month from your first birthday.  Where did 2015 go?  Where did your first year go?  I'm in awe at how fast life goes.  I remember when your Daddy and I got married and we were excited for starting a family one day.  I knew I wanted babies and I knew I wanted to be a mama but I had no idea what the depth of that love looked like or felt.  And then you and Colin came along and life became full like I never knew.  Life had color.  And my heart burst with love for you.  You are exiting your baby stages as you begin walking-- that's right I said walking.  You took 6 steps on the eve of your 11 month birthday.  And you are beginning to use sign language to communicate.  And the music to my ears is when you say "Mama."  Colin tries so hard to teach you by saying "Mamama!"  You are busier than any other child I know-- seriously I don't remember Colin being this busy!  You crawl, climb, walk around furniture, pull yourself up on EVERYTHING and EVERYONE.  You pull your shoes off, you arch your back, you throw every toy you can get your hands on, you crawl over your friends at school, you hide behind furniture, you climb the stairs, you've escaped the gate at school, you hide food in your highchair, and getting your diaper and clothes on is like wrestling an alligator.  And I wouldn't want you to be any other way.  You are the happiest boy.  You smile and laugh the time.  You are babbling more and more.  And even when you don't feel good or are tired, you just snuggle.  You are simply the sweetest.  And if I could guarantee that all babies would be just like you, then we might have a family of ten!
You have one more month in the infant room at school.  You are more than ready for the emerging toddlers classroom.  You still sleep and eat like a champ!  And you just popped 3 molars after Thanksgiving.  I never even knew you were teething, that is how easy of a baby you are!  You are quickly growing out of 18 month clothes and you and Colin are about to share clothes more frequently.  Colin better enjoy the last few months he may have as the "bigger" brother because his time is running out as you grow and become stronger.  And with your physical strength has come smarts!  I know I'm your mama but seriously you are smart.  You don't miss anything and you learn things SO quickly!  Keep it up little buddy!  But if you want to stay little a while longer, I'm okay with that too.
XOXO Mama
