22 Weeks

So after I took this picture I realized my bump looks bigger in these pictures than it actually is... I tend to pop my hip to help Colin "peak" around and typically the picture is taken JUST after I've tried to get Colin to smile- this week we failed.  So the bump is not quite as large as it appears here!

This baby has been moving more and Ryan got to feel some good kicks this week.  He likes to move early in the morning and late at night.  He isn't very active during the day-- I guess he is going to have to learn night and day when he is born.

Oh and if you are reading my caption for 22 weeks then you will see that Ryan has shingles!  Yep, it's true.  He woke up LAST Monday with a sore on his back and then one on his chest the next day.  By Wednesday it was bothering him a lot- even his shirt touching it was enough to really make him squirm.  He called the Dr but they suspected it was a spider bite so he didn't go in.  By Thursday morning, he was in a lot of pain and that pain was spreading around his torso.  They took him in and figured out that he has shingles.  Awesome.

He instantly started an oral anti-viral medication and on Friday he began an Essential Oil topical treatment- thanks Danielle!- and he is recovering.  His torso still hurts and as of yesterday he has noticed a few new spots- we are really hoping that the two spots do not spread.  Say some prayers he heals up quickly.

Also- since Colin isn't 1 yet, he hasn't had his vaccination for chicken pox.  We have tried really hard to keep Colin away from Ryan and his shingles-- lots of hand washing, Ryan has bandaged his shingles and always wears two layers of shirts, no feeding Colin, and minimal contact.  As long as Colin doesn't touch an open blister, the doctors have said he should be fine.  Again, pray that we would stay chicken pock free!  And then there's me and this baby- since I've had chicken pox, I'm not at risk and therefore baby is okay too.  Again we've been really careful- separate sleeping, lots of hand washing, and keeping Ryan bandaged and covered.

So yep-- that's been our week.  We loved having a 3 day weekend and hoping it ca be a healing weekend for Ryan!
