Spencer,
I'm sure someday when you read this blog and are graduating high school or getting married, you'll roll your eyes when you read that each month I can't believe you're that much closer to your first birthday. You're that much further away from the day I found out you would join our family or the day you entered our world. I'm honestly shaking my head in disbelief at how quickly you are growing up. I knew it would happen fast-- even faster than Colin growing up as you would try to keep up with him and life would just be that much busier and fast paced. And I was right. You so badly want to run with your brother. You want to play with whatever he is playing with (which he does not appreciate-- sharing isn't his strength yet!). You watch so intently at everything that is going on around you. And I just want to bottle up these summer days with you and relive them over and over. I'm your Mama and I can't help myself.
This month you are rolling EVERYWHERE! You usually get yourself stuck against a wall or under a chair-- to which Colin gets our attention and wants to help pull you out. And you have just about mastered sitting up on your own. You are still a little wobbly and you tip over but for the most part you are an independent sitter. And oh my word do you want to crawl in the worst way. I'm certain you will be much happier-- not that you are fussy at all- when you can get to your brother, toys, or whatever destination you choose. You get up on all fours and rock. One day you'll take off.
This month you popped two bottom teeth which has also opened up more solid foods for you to try. You LOVE cheerios and your favorite foods are cereal, butternut squash and avocado. You just started yogurt and eggs and so far so good. You are on the verge of popping another tooth! Maybe you'll be like Colin and get all your teeth early!
Your sleeping has been awesome-- thank you for 12-13 hour stretches! And you stayed overnight at Grandpa and Grandma Helland's house for a weekend and did great!
This summer is flying by. One more month at home with Jaxon and Rose as your nannies and then you'll start at Creative Kids Acadmey. I'm sort of dreading it-- stay little please. I LOVE you so much and can't stand to think of you not as my baby anymore. Although, let's be honest you'll always be my baby.
XOXO Mama
