Colin's One Year Pictures + Maternity Pictures too!

We took Colin's one year pictures plus some maternity pictures at Minnehaha Falls Park.  It was a beautiful and warm Sunday afternoon.  Of course Brett Dorrian captured our family as well as styled up my hair and makeup.  I can't do pictures without Brett!  Colin was working on popping a molar and the excitement of the park was almost overwhelming for him.  He was happy as could be if he could walk around on his own but a "posed" family picture was just not in his skill set that day.  It's okay- I like that we can remember this time in his life as a busy boy, on the move!
So without further to do and without sharing our Christmas card pictures...

Thanks Brett for another great session!  See you in January for newborn pictures again!!

Happy First Birthday Colin!

My baby is one!  I feel like I blinked and the last year flew by!  Some days felt long but the year felt so short!  We celebrated Colin's birthday on Sunday- his actual birthday with a mustache/little man theme birthday!  I will let the pictures do the talking...
I had gingerbread men as take home 'gifts' for the adults and Ryan and I made shirts for the little ladies and gents who came to the party.
I had a collage of Colin's month-by-month pictures.  Really fun to compare his little changing face.
Colin was spoiled with gifts!
I spray painted Colin's great, great-grandmother's highchair for the occasion.  The chair is 123 years old.  It was my grandpa Norval's mothers chair built in 1892.
#MomFail: During the birthday song I didn't stop Colin fast enough and he touched his candle.  And thus- we have these pictures...
Colin had to take a breather outside and get some fresh air, calm down, and eat some icre cream cake.  And then everything was okay.

We tried again later and got a few better pictures...
After all the excitement Colin was exhausted and ready for a nap.  He plopped down right in the family room-- a good sign for nap time!

We are really blessed to have such awesome family and friends who came to celebrate Colin's first birthday!  It was so much fun to be surrounded by the closest people and those that have watched Colin grow up this year.  Happy Birthday Colin!  We love you!

28 Weeks

It's the third trimester people!  Oh my word!  That means 12-13 more weeks and this little boy will be here!  I had a great doctor appointment on Tuesday and baby is measuring about 30 weeks but that doesn't mean too much in terms of when he will arrive.  A healthy heart beat and I passed my glucose test and hemoglobin tests with flying colors!  Yay!

27 Weeks

Colin says- "Hey you there!  Yes you!  I'm almost one!"
I cannot believe I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I have a one year old!

I am definitely feeling this little guy kick and move so much more these days.  I feel like he has grown a lot in the last week.  He is very active and just like Colin he has gotten his foot lodged under my rib a few times lately.  It's lovely.
We got to have 3D ultasound pictures taken this week and it was amazing to see our baby.  So many features are just like Colin- his nose and cheeks especially.  He looks to have more of his daddy's jaw line.
Want to do a fun comparison?
Colin's 28 week ultrasound picture is on the left and this new baby's picture is on the right.
And this is funny too... 27 weeks pregnant with Colin vs. 27 weeks pregnant now.
I'm off to work on some details for Colin's birthday that is this weekend!  How did my baby turn one?!  What is crazy to think is that next year when we celebrate Colin's 2nd birthday, this little boy will be here too and will be closing in on his 1st birthday too!

26 Weeks

Could I be carrying any lower?!  Oh my word!
This picture is quite eye opening for me!  Yikes I look like I've stuffed a beach ball up my dress but I didn't push it all the way up!  What a funny look!  So the old wives tale that says you carrying lower with a boy is certainly true for me!

Ryan and I sat down this week to go over finances- that was fun.  Oh wait, it wasn't.  We are going to be poor.  No we won't be poor but life will change again when this little man comes into the family.  Luckily lots of things can be handed down to this baby but things like college funds, life insurance, and general baby expenses will give Ryan a heart attack.  It was a good meeting- and sort of exciting really envisioning this family of four!  We will be busy, crazy, and I love it!  I won't be shopping as often and we need to make a much stronger effort to cook dinner instead of dining out but all totally worth it to have these boys in our life!
