Blue or Pink...

I made this box to open our surprise!  We had our 20 week ultrasound on Tuesday.  Baby is looking perfect and he even posed for the pictures.  Seriously.  The technician would say, "I'm going to see if I can get baby to show us the face."  And then baby would look right at the camera, without my belly being pushed on.  This was the case for almost all body parts--- including the gender.
We asked the technician to help in the surprise and she stepped out of the room to let Party Safari know what baby is- boy or girl.  That evening our families came over for the reveal!
Team Boy...
Team Girl...
And then we opened the box...
And it was BLUE balloons!!!
I will have a house full of boys!  I cannot stand it!  I'm so happy!!
We are so thankful to have a healthy, baby BOY on the way!  See you in January little guy!

Ten Months

Where did my baby go?  And when did he become a little boy?

Weight: Hovering right around 20 lbs.  With all the new movement, it's hard to get more calories in than he uses!
Sleep: We just started transitioning out of the sleep suit.  At least at bedtime.  He still has it for naps but I figured we had to transition at some point and so far so good.  He sleeps from 8pm-5am, bottle and then will usually go back down until 6:30/7am.  He still fights the morning nap and definitely takes a better nap for me than for others.  And his afternoon nap is at least an hour, sometimes 2.
Feeding: If it doesn't taste like cheese, then Colin isn't interested.  Thus he eats a lot of cheese, cheddar goldfish, and Mac N' Cheese.  Recently pouches are fun if I help him eat out of the pouch but if I grab a spoon, then he is not happy!  I just keep trying :)
Diapers: size 3
Clothing: 9 month clothes
Hair Color: Brown
Eye Color: Brown
Milestones: First trip to the zoo!  Almost walking! First cabin trip!  First time falling asleep at dinner!   First buddy bath!
Nicknames: Goomba, Little Man
Favorites: Swinging is still an all time favorite!  Swimming, johny jump up, crawling all over, climbing, Dupree!, stroller walks (now that we have the CoolMee), being outside, Elmo on Sesame Street, and big boy baths in the big tub!

Colin Douglas,
I am head over heels in love with you.  This month has been busy!  From sun up to sun down, you are on the go.  No longer can we sit and snuggle, you want to move.  And secretly, I love it!  I love that you are exploring.  I love that you are figuring out the world around you.  You get so proud of yourself when you work something out or accomplish something you are trying to do.  I'm a proud mama!
One of my favorite things about you is your laugh.  I love that you laugh all the time.  I love that you laugh at yourself and that you think you are funny.  It reminds me of your daddy.  I love that you have a sense of humor.  Tonight when I put you to bed, we were rocking in your chair and you made the noise that you make for "oh no!" and you put your hands on your head like you do when we say this.  And you laughed and looked at me.  You knew you were being funny and wanted to check to see if I thought you were funny.  I burst out laughing too.  You're so cute and so sweet.  I hope you NEVER EVER change.
I can't believe in two months, we will be celebrating your first birthday!  How time flies!  Stay little Colin- don't grow up too fast!  Love you to the moon and back!
XOXO Mama

19 Weeks

Please excuse my cheesy smile!!  The outakes for this week's picture were ridiculous and this was the best option.  Just focus on the adorable baby in my arms and the growing belly- yikes!

In less than a week we will know if baby Hannay is a boy or girl!  I'm getting really excited for our appointment- to see baby again and to check out his or her development!  It's so cool and such an amazing gift.  All we want is healthy- then we will be happy!!

The only thing this week I have to mention is my sciatic nerve- it's the nerve that runs down your lower back into your butt.  Ouch!  Mine hurts so bad.  I went to the chiropractor and usually that helps but this time, no go.  Walking, bending over, lifting... it's all just uncomfortable.  But if that's my biggest complaint, then I'll take that annoying sciatic nerve.  I had the same with Colin and I know what to expect.

So anyways, that's it.  Week 20 will announce boy or girl!  Have a great rest of your week!

The Outtakes

Oh Hi Mom.  You want to take a picture each week with me?  Smiling nicely at the camera?  And I can't be moving while the picture is taken?  This sounds silly. - Colin

18 Weeks

I'm starting to get really anxious and excited to know if baby is a boy or girl!  Less than 2 weeks and I can't wait!  I know it will be so much more real- even more than it already is- to know if we have another son or a daughter joining us in January.
I've felt a few more movements lately, mostly like baby is pushing against something inside.  Not the same kicks or jabs I felt with Colin but I know that will come soon!  I've noticed that moving around is getting a little harder- as in bending to help Colin walk is not very comfortable.  I'm wondering how this is going to work for 22 more weeks!  I'm sure it will be a sight to see!

Kneekers

One disadvantage of our house is that we have all hardwood floors.  Everywhere except the bedrooms is hardwood.  And although they are pretty easy to keep clean, they aren't the most kid friendly.  Crawling on wood floors isn't super comfortable and I'm sure the beginning of walking independently will be full of crashes.  In fact sometimes Colin gets tangled in his own arms and we've had a few face plants on the hardwood floor.  It's not fun.  Anyways, my mom found these Kneekers as a great solution for Colin comfortably crawling on the floor.
They slip right on those chunky little legs and the rubber piece fits perfect over his knees.  He doesn't mind crawling on the hardwood floor when he is wearing these.  If he isn't wearing them, he does a funny scoot on one knee while holding the other one up.
I found them online here.  The only thing that is sort of a bummer, is they were a little tight on Colin's thighs so Ryan stretched them out- which helped Colin- but it made the edging come undone and now they are unraveling.
I would highly recommend them still for the beginning crawler with hardwood floors.  On the other hand they GREATLY expand Colin's mobility so maybe not :)
Gotta run, Colin's on the move-
